Entry Rules for Travel to Marrakech

Do you need a visa for Marrakech?

Here are some examples of Morocco’s visa rules for different nationalities:
- Citizens of 70+ countries, including EU nations, the UK, and the U.S. can visit visa-free for up to 90 days.
- Travelers from around 10 countries, including Israel, Jordan, and India, can get an e-Visa for 30-day stays.
- Most other nationalities can also get an e-Visa if they hold a residence permit or visa for countries in the Schengen Area, the UAE, Japan, among others.
- Nationals of all other countries need an embassy visa.

Marrakech e-Visa
If you need a visa, Marrakech offers an easy-to-use e-Visa system. This allows you to apply online before your trip and receive your visa electronically.
The e-Visa is valid for Marrakech and all parts of Morocco. You can use your approved visa to enter the country and stay for up to 30 days, leaving from Marrakech or any other Moroccan border crossing.
Marrakech e-Visa requirements
Over 100 nationalities are eligible to apply for the Morocco e-Visa. The specific e-Visa requirements depend on your country of citizenship.
A few nationalities just need their passport to apply, while all other eligible countries must have a passport plus supporting documents. This could be a visa or residence permit from an eligible country.
- Passport only: Benin, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Guatemala, India, Israel, Jordan, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam

Health Requirements for Marrakech
The health rules for visitors to Marrakech are the same as those for the rest of the country. Health insurance isn’t mandatory for Morocco, but it’s recommended for all international travelers.
If you have traveled from a yellow fever endemic country on your way to Marrakech, you must show a valid vaccination certificate when you arrive.
Marrakech Customs Regulations
When traveling to Marrakech, you should be aware of customs regulations. Check the rules before you travel to avoid any complications during your trip.
Prohibited items
Some items are not allowed to be carried through customs controls in Marrakech and other destinations in Morocco.
You must not carry the following items in any part of your luggage:

Duty-free allowances
If you're planning to bring items into Marrakech for personal use or as gifts, check the duty-free allowances. They regulate he quantity and value of some types of goods that you can bring into the country without having to pay import duties or taxes.
You do not have to pay tax up to the following amounts:
- Tobacco products: 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars, or 400g tobacco
- Alcohol: 1 liter spirits and 1 liter wine
- Perfume: 150 ml perfume and 250 ml eau de toilette
